"You see extremely beautiful forests, and their exploitation by experts from SLB, who respects trees and the environment. What I also liked was the ecological side of this activity. Nature is being left to grow. When I saw this was functioning harmoniously, I decided to invest in SLB and help a company create that kind of thing."

“I was personally very interested in the forest. My father was a hunter and we spent a lot of time in forests. I was invited by Mr. Ledentu to see the SLB forest program in Brazil. I saw the forest grow very rapidly in Brazil. Here in France, it takes many years to grow a forest, while in Brazil it's very fast.”
Testimonies

Mr & Mrs PerousseSLB investors since 2011
Mr & Mrs Perousse have been investing in the Marambaia farm through his holding company since 2011.
Since when have you been investing in the SLB Group?
A friend, a forest expert who supervises the exploitation of the different plantations of the Brasil Forest® program told me about the concept and I was very interested about it.
My first relations with SLB Group date back to the first quarter of 2011 at the time of the acquisition of the Marambaia farm land and the incorporation of KP company in Brazil.
How do you explain the concept of commercial forest you have invested in?
Before deciding to invest, we went to Brazil. We were able to witness this project, how it had been implemented and who was carrying it out. This commercial forest farming concept saves native cultures. It is attractive in terms of afforestation in a country subject to deforestation. It is also interesting to use a rapidly growing type of wood to restore a certain balance.
What is your feedback on your trip to Brazil on the farms you visited there? What struck you the most?
Certainly the responsible way things are being done at every level of this operation. Whether it's on the legal, financial or technical level. All issues are addressed by young, dynamic and skilled specialists in their field (notary, legal and tax advisers, agronomist engineers, etc.). I was also very impressed by the fact that varieties of eucalyptus for planting planted are selected based on the land exposure and the soil composition. I believe in this project because it has been responsibly carried out by qualified and committed people.
Why is this involvement (investment) with SLB Group attractive?
The most attractive point for me, considering my age, is the early return on investment. The quality of the project financing and the climate of trust with Stéphane Ledentu and his teams were also a decisive factor. As far as know, this type of rapid tree growing does not exist in Europe. We must therefore go where it is possible and where it is being done.
Why is it a growth industry in your opinion?
It is undoubtedly a growth industry since natural products are more and more demanded. The increasing demand will only be met with the rapid growing types of wood.
Econology: is it possible?
Yes, ecology and economy can be combined. Anything that can be done to preserve or improve the environment must be done in all reasonable forms and planting eucalyptus forests is obviously one of these things.
